Summer Social Sessions
Learn, Connect & Grow!
Summer Social is a full-day therapeutic program designed to help children ages 5–13 learn, connect with peers, and have fun.
We combine high-quality therapy with practical, engaging activities so kids can build skills and then practice them in meaningful ways with new friends. We also take children into the community to create even more opportunities for real-world practice, connection, and confidence-building.
Our program offers small, well-matched groups, with lessons and activities adapted to each child’s individual goals and needs. Sessions are neurodiversity-affirming and child-led, with a focus on supporting authentic growth, connection, and participation.
Who is Summer Social for?
Summer Social may be a great fit for kids who are struggling to make friends, feeling left out, having trouble joining in, feeling shy in groups, or wanting friends but not always knowing what to say or how to connect. It’s also a great option for children who would benefit from support with social confidence, conversation skills, group participation, and reading social cues in a fun, supportive environment.
Summer Social is an inclusive program that welcomes children with or without diagnoses, including children with a variety of diagnoses and learning profiles such as autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and giftedness. We aim to create a space where children feel understood, supported, and excited to participate.
The Details
Week 1- July 6-10
Week 2- July 13-17
Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 3:00pm
Location: So Social, North Vancouver
Summer Social runs Monday–Friday, for two weeks in July.
Families may register for Week 1, Week 2, or both weeks.
Each day includes a combination of small-group therapy sessions and larger group activities. Lessons introduce key social concepts and practical, evidence-based strategies to support skill development. We build on concepts throughout the week, giving students repeated opportunities to practice new strategies in meaningful, real-world situations. Sessions are student-led whenever possible.
Our goal is for Summer Social to provide a boost in social skills, friendships, and confidence — while also creating fun summer memories. To support this, we include 3-4 outings per week** that give students real-world opportunities to apply the concepts and strategies they are learning on fun adventures around Vancouver (such as local pools, Grouse Mountain, playgrounds, and more).
Treatment goals are developed by the program directors with input from students and staff, based on each child’s individual needs. Progress is tracked throughout the session and parents can request reports.
We offer two unique weeks, and families are welcome to register for one week or both. Activities, outings, and field trips vary from week to week.
