Our Programs
Our groups are neurodiversity affirming- We believe that kids should work on what makes sense to them as soon as they are able to, and that they should love coming. For more info on this, please see our philosophies.
If you have a child or teen that is struggling socially- we are here to offer support, build skills, and provide community.
Programs are open to kids with or without diagnoses. Some kids who attend have ASD, ADHD, Social Pragmatic Disorder, Giftedness, etc.
Families looking for our services might report that their kids are struggling to make or keep friends, get bullied or are ostracized by peers, misread intentions of others, or have difficulties interpreting facial expressions and body language.
What exactly do we work on?
Each group and individual have different goals. But, some things we work on frequnetly include:
Demystifying non-verbal communication - body language and facial expressions can be so tricky.
Executive functioning (planning, organizing, etc.)
Perspective Taking, understanding the relationships between what we do and say, how it makes others feel, what they might do or say based on those feelings, and then how you feel about it.
Managing communication with peers online
Social problem solving and bullying.
Job readiness skills including work experience, resume building, workplace training, etc.
Understanding levels of friendships.
How to be part of a group, including collaboration.
Imaginative play and related conversational skills.
How to get through uncomfortable moments (and feel more comfortable in them)
Emotional regulation (identifying emotions, using our emotions to help you, predicting difficult moments, etc.).
Making small talk.
Learning how to have conversations- about things you like and things you might not.
